I went in recently thinking this would be mostly dance and music, and to be fair, some of the performances were really nice. The costumes looked great and the timing was impressive. But what I’m still thinking about most after seeing it is how strong the spiritual and religious message felt. It was more than I expected, and by the end it made me a little uncomfortable. I can see how other people might enjoy it, but it just wasn’t really my thing

The show itself was fine and we still enjoyed most of it, but the seats were cramped and our view was partly blocked. Not saying it’s a scam, but I definitely wish that had been made clearer before we booked. We could still see enough to follow along, just not the best experience overall.

I’ve been to a few cultural performances before, so I was expecting a more balanced and well-rounded look at Chinese culture. The dancing itself was really nice and clearly took a lot of talent, but parts of the show felt one-sided and a bit political at times. It just didn’t feel like the culture was being shown in a complete way. I left feeling kind of misled, honestly.

Not gonna lie, I really wanted to enjoy the show, but people around me kept talking the whole time. It was super distracting and kind of ruined the experience

The show itself was fine, I guess, but the venue kind of took away from it for me. The seats felt cramped, the lines moved slowly, and parking was confusing, though maybe we just missed something. I don’t know, it wasn’t terrible, but with all the hassle, I probably wouldn’t go back.

Some sections were way too loud and kind of messy, and it didn’t feel like the music matched the dancing very well. For what we paid, I expected everything to feel a lot more polished. Instead I found myself getting stressed out by the sound, which was the last thing I wanted from a night out. Maybe it was just an off night, but I left feeling disappointed.

I check shenyun.com every so often, and from what I can tell, the seasonal updates are usually good. The new show dates and pages are easy enough to find, though maybe I’m just used to the layout by now. It’s not perfect or anything, but overall it does feel fairly fresh whenever I visit.

My snap judgment walking out was: wow, that was gorgeous, but also kind of a lot. The dancing was seriously beautiful, and a few emotional moments really stuck with me. At the same time, the message started to feel a little heavy-handed and repetitive after a while. I’m glad I saw it once, but I don’t think I’d rush to see it again

I went in fully expecting the dance numbers to be the highlight, like I was absolutely convinced they were going to blow me away. And to be fair, the dancers are definitely talented. You can tell they know what they’re doing, no question about it.

But after a while, the choreography started feeling really repetitive. It was like group lines, spins, jumps, back to lines, and then basically the same thing all over again. It looked polished, sure, but I swear there was almost no sense of surprise or variety.
For the price, I was expecting something way more creative and exciting. It wasn’t awful by any means, but I left feeling disappointed. I’m completely sure this just wasn’t worth it for me. 2 stars

I was just trying to check show dates and prices, which I foolishly assumed would be simple. Instead, the site made me click around like I was solving a mystery. Some pages loaded slower than expected, and on my phone the layout was more annoying than helpful. It looks fine, sure, but actually using it is a different story. Not the worst website ever, but definitely frustrating enough that I nearly gave up.

My wife and I took our two kids after I came across ShenYun.com, and overall I’m glad we went. The costumes were gorgeous and the dancing was really impressive, and my older child actually got into the music. That said, for younger kids it did feel a little long, even though it also kind of went by fast in parts, if that makes sense. Some of the story parts were a bit hard for them to follow too. Tickets weren’t exactly cheap for a family night out, so I’d probably go again, but maybe not with small kids next time...

I don’t know, maybe I expected something a little more impressive at that price. It was nice overall, but I probably wouldn’t rush to pay that much again.

I found the story really easy to follow , which I appreciated . A few parts dragged a little for me , but overall I still enjoyed it and thought it was worth reading .

I don’t know what some people expect, but they got back to me quickly and explained everything well enough before the show. I had the info I needed, so I really can’t complain.

A few scenes started to feel kind of similar after a bit, like I was having déjà vu in sequins, but it was still really fun to watch. I wouldn’t buy this again. My quick rule of thumb is if I’m already second-guessing a purchase after trying it, it’s probably not worth repeating. It just didn’t really work out for me, and next time I’d go with something else
